Reading Museum - Learn about the animals in your garden with Reading Museum's A Wild Talk!

A Wild Talk!
Saturday 27 July, 1pm-2.30pm | Reading Museum

Do you wonder what mammals use your garden at night? Do you have foxes, or hedgehogs, and want to get a closer look at them? Find out how in this exciting talk, and discover the wild where you are!

At the Museum we’re pleased to be hosting one of the opening events to Wild about Reading, a nine-day celebration of the nature, wild spaces and wildlife in our beautiful town. This talk will be led by Dr Tara Pirie, of Reading University and the Berkshire Mammal Group, who has a lot of experience using trail cameras and other clues in her research on big cats.

She will show you how to use camera traps in your own garden, how to make a footprint tunnel to gather evidence of who’s visited, and how to identify the animals’ tracks - and other signs they leave behind.

Free admission, donations welcome
Booking essential - call 0118 937 3400 or visit our website
