100 years of Reading's weather

The great storm of 1987, the floods of 2014 and even the fatal tornado of 1840 all feature in the new book by University of Reading Meteorologists Roger Brugge and Stephen Burt

100 years of Reading Weather: A man and a horse at the trough at the junction of Forbury Road and Valpy Street, Reading, in February 1929. The Great Frost has frozen the water in the trough, and the outside of it is covered with icicles. (Reading Central Library, image 1395 313)
