The BIG Draw with Reading Guild of Artists
Monday 22 October, 10am - 3.30pm
Join Reading Guild of Artists to celebrate this year’s BIG Draw Festival! The fabulous artists at the RGA will be on hand to help you adorn the Museum with artwork. Borrow a pen and pencil, pick up a board from our gallery drawing boxes and start to create your own masterpieces. No experience necessary, all welcome. Including a Bayeux sewing demo between 10.30am and 12pm.

Ancient Egyptian Fun Day
Tuesday 23 October, 10am - 3pm
Members of the Thames Valley Ancient Egypt Society join museum staff for a fun day of activities with an Egyptian theme, inspired by some of the fantastic artifacts from the collection.
Find out about the Society’s work and take part in activities throughout the galleries, including:
• Dressing up
• Handling real artifacts
• Making scarab beetle necklaces
• Finding out about daily life in Ancient Egypt
• Decorating masks
• Writing your name in hieroglyphs

Hear about the Abbey monks, visiting royalty, links to novelist Jane Austen and the vital conservation work done to bring it back to life. Please note that the Gateway has no step free access and there are uneven steps and floors.
